I am talking about both.

It has been very difficult, but the update for Fiesta (minus iPhone) is on track before the end of the year.  There is no update for other existing vehicles since the Nav system doesn't support it.  There will be v2 and v3 updates however.

Phone connections are made by MAC addresss - kind of like the IP address of your computer.  The name of the phone doesn't matter.  If your phone lost its phonebook due to an update and you connected it back to SYNC, it is likely that your phone then transferred an empty phonebook to SYNC.  So your contacts are now also gone from SYNC.  There is never going to be a way to extract a phonebook back out of SYNC anyway.  That is an intentional personal information security feature. Hi all, Please allow me to clear up any confusion.  Current production versions of SYNC do not support MAP.  Upcoming versions do.  The current versions use existing profiles to get around the fact that there has not been a standard for text message transfer.  That is why it works only on certain phones.  Regarding the implementation on the phone side.  That is something that has to be done in the phone software platform.  It can not be added by a third party application. It is humanly possible, but I wouldn't do it since your system would be unserviceable.  You would not even be able to use this website to get updates.  If you took it to the dealer they would say it has the wrong module in it and swap it out.

I know there are several users out there that are experts when it comes to media files, tags, and formats.  Perhaps someone will chime in.

MAP is not quite yet released on SYNC.

Are you asking me or Mike the Moderator?  Sorry.  When I get a chance I pop in here to answer technical questions.  I have learned not to make any promises.  Mike the SYNC software specialist

Well you can erase all your user data with a Master Reset, but I would expect you to come up with the same result until you run SyncMyiTunes or other such MP3 tag cleanup utility.

Hi frenchy, It is possible that you actually did run out of space.  You can try a Master Reset, then repair your phone, and install the SMP phonebook again. Mike
