when you say upcoming versions do.. Are we talking about the versions that are now branded MyTouch... or will we get the upgrades to existing platforms ie.. 2.1/3.1?

So I finally had a chance to test out the GPS update map on my Ford Fusion Hybrid 2010.  This is the new v.2011 update...  The short version.. Save yourself the money and DO NOT BUY it. This thing is still missing massive amount of map data.  It is ridiculous and bordering on criminal to charge people money for product that clearly DOES NOT even attempt to provide the basic functionality it advertises.  Leaving the main State highways still results with "Voice guidance can NOT be provided in this area due to incomplete map data".   That statement clearly says everything that should drive your decision to purchase. for $220 this is un-excusable.

I updated my Ford Fusion Hybrid with the v3.1 update as well although as pointed out it's listed as v.2011 on the website.  Next week I'll be able to check some specific gaps that they had in the road coverage.  i will post if those were fixed. However, I am already disappointed by the point of interest information.  First it is half (3+ million vs 6+)  for all the portable gps units available. 2nd the restaurants listed in its database are horrendously OLD. In some cases it lists locations that have been demolished 5 years ago;  for example on a single stretch of road  (2 miles) it lists 5 restaurants that have be replaced by banks, gas stations and other buildings at least 3 years ago for the newest and 6 years ago for some of the older locations.

I do realize the challenge they have with that text messaging.  I'm okay with a bunch of canned messages to choose from by voice for sending.  maybe with option to somehow add a few custom one's as well.  Ultimately they need to provide a BETTER list of phones that have sms capability and keep that more up to date. the list thats there now might as well list rotary phones.. some of those phones haven't been sold for 3-4 years.

audible may mean to hear.. so it should HEAR what I'm saying and send it as a text message.

Integrates with phone to receive text messages (read them out) as well as allows to dictate a message thru voice recognition and sends the message using the phones sms capability.
