some i pod touches cannot sync up unless you have picked USB instead of LINE-IN and there is conflict with software that ford is aware of and you must tell APPLE regarding this problem the old MICROSOFT vs. APPLE issue

Another "My iPhone starts playing automatically" complaint here.  I'd really like for that not to happen.

PS:  Not sure why the moderator merged this issue with the 3.1 firmware indexing thread.  Their cause might be related, but they're two very different issues.  The merge made it difficult to find that this issue has already been reported.

there's a thread about this on apple's support site also... there are fixes listed, but none of them work for me..  this is an annoying issue and I hope someone fixes it soon.. autoplay to off doesn't work.. it SHOULD.. but it doesn't.. I downloaded the BlueTooth profile app on my jailbroken iphone and it doesn't work either.. what happen when you disable A2DP is that the audio just goes to the iphone's speakers.. it still plays when the phone sync's to sync every time.. :(

One of the main factors here is the fact that SYNC has an audio source transition sequence rule that goes from USB to Bluetooth Audio.  This has been removed in a future version.  It was a well intended feature that turns out to be more trouble than it is worth.  In the meantime, one thing you can do is to make sure it never gets into that fallback condition.  You can do that by making sure it always has a USB device in place while the ignition is on.  If you want to use the iPhone then that means plugging it into USB (and making sure the iPhone is on the "Dock" setting) before turning on ignition and not removing it until after the ignition is off and the door is open.

What happens when a call comes in? I think that I answered the call. Then I don't remember if it went back to USB automatically or if I used the voice command to go back to USB. But after that, there was no sound. I had to actually use the iPhone and select the :USB dock connector again so it would play through the car speakers. This is not good to do while driving! How can this be worked around?

The iPhone has again started indexing when I attach it. Every time. Even tho I do not change anything. Just shutting off the car and then turning it back on.
