I just bought a 2010 Ford F-150 and so far Sync seems to be working great with my iPhone 4. I'm just wondering if text messages will eventually work after the new Sync update. My truck came with Sync 3.1. What is required to get the text working? A software update? Or is the hardware lacking on the iPhone 4?

I do not think any sync version works with text messaging and the iPhone. Maybe they will update this, but i wouldn't hold my breath

I the iPhone 4.0 works awesome with sync, but The bluetooth autostart issue is MAJOR ANNOYANCE and has been around for ever. Please fix!!!
(when you get into your car, the iPod player starts playing on your phone through blue tooth even if you do not have sync set to blue tooth audio mode. so you have no idea its playing and it drains down your battery. The sync system should be smart and notice that its not set to blue tooth audio mode and should not start iPod player.

Agreed, the auto start of bluetooth audio is a pain. Took me awhile to figure out what was going on. If found that in my case, if I leave the phone plugged into the usb port and turn off the engine, when it starts up again, the bluetooth audio starts, but after switching to sync > usb, the audio can't be heard. I think there is a away to redirect from BT to Connector, but that takes navigation of the iPhone. The workaround that I use is simply to unplug the iPhone from the usb port each time I leave the truck. Upon return and starting of the engine, bluetooth audio starts automatically. Then I plug the iPhone into the usb port and via the media/voice switch sync to usb. Now I am able to use voice commands to control the iPhone.
