The trouble I am having with Sync is when I say a voice command to a contact in my phone book and it dials someone else! Also when I do end up connecting with a contact it is very staticey. This is not the system I thought it would be. Does anybody have any suggestions??

Try setting up a user profile with your own voice so the system understands you better.  It helped the Voice Control accuracy a lot for me.

Soo yea the voice training is only for the nav system. I'd try making sure all your contacts have a First and Last name. That helps more for most people. Also what Ver. of sync do you have? what's your "ride" (AKA car model)

It's a good system, but could it be better?  Oh yeah!  Sometimes I just want to slap it! <lol>  Seriously. how can the command "phone" be mistook for "tutorial"??

... And why can't I press the voice button and say "Call Mom" ? I have to say "Phone" first then my command? I love the Ford commercials or plugs in a show where they use sync and it conveniently leaves out all the voice prompting the sync lady does, or the 2-3 second delay after you press the button. To the SYNC folk, there should be more shortcuts. I can say "Destination Restaurant" from the main menu with saying "Destination" first, so why not a shortcut to place a call? Also, there should an advanced-advance setting. I know I have to choose a line number, you don't need to tell me every time. All I need is the beep. Josh.

I think you will find out it is your phone, not SYNC that can't recognize the name you are asking for.  I have trouble calling 1 person in my phone book (Sami) , it will always dial the same wrong person (Sandy). Then I got a call from Sami  the name is pronounced  'Somi' by the phone, through SYNC. I called her back using 'Somi" and it dialed the correct number.  My phone says 'Somi" when it is not connected to the car. It is the phones voice that comes over SYNC when a call comes in. not the SYNC voice.  If there are similar names in your phone it is the phone, not SYNC that has the trouble.

Try having a convertible with SYNC, it is horrible at best!  Biggest POS I have ever bought.  If I could uninstall it and get my $ back, I would.
