Well, I know what it means - that SYNC can read a text message received on a sync'd phone.  Which only works on phones that have SMS Texting capability (a rarity).

If I didn't already know, I would likely thing that SYNC allowed you to vocalize a text message and send it through your phone.

1.  SYNC can read and play (through the speaker system) a text message received on a paired phone with SMS texting capability.

and

2.  SYNC can create and send a text message from your audio (vocal) input (through the microphone).

What's it mean to you?

While I think many people would also share the interpretation of the previous posters, the word "audible" means "to hear." It has nothing to do with speaking or speech-to-text. So based on that definiton, the phrase "Audible Text Messaging" means: text messaging you can hear. And that's what SYNC does.

Granted, my first question to someone selling this to me would absolutely be, "So can you respond to text messages in any way?" because that's only logical since text messaging is typically two way communication. I love this feature, just wish more phones supported it.. Oh and speech-to-text wouldn't be a bad feature to add-in one day :)

I can easily see how that title can be interpreted in that way. It certainly could be clearer. No doubt about that.

I do realize the challenge they have with that text messaging.  I'm okay with a bunch of canned messages to choose from by voice for sending.  maybe with option to somehow add a few custom one's as well. 

Ultimately they need to provide a BETTER list of phones that have sms capability and keep that more up to date. the list thats there now might as well list rotary phones.. some of those phones haven't been sold for 3-4 years.
