The SyncMyRide website is absolutely terrible. MicroSoft, you should be able to do better!

1) barely functional in FireFox (using WinXP)

2) extremely slow in IE (using WinXP). Frequently crashes into an error message.

3) why not have a section on the website titled "My Account" where everything I need is clustered? The titles presently used are confusing to say the least. No site map, either.

4) On some pages, the VIN of my Mustang shows up -- why not also include right there the version number of the Sync software that I've successfully loaded?

5) My 2010 Mustang has nav, and it took a huge amount of hunting to figure out that apparently it won't work with the Traffic/Directions/Info feature -- although the feature support page indicates that it is "Standard or Updateable"

6) one section ("Shop for Sync") makes absolutely no sense -- I thought it would be accessories, but it flips me out of SyncMyRide and into an advert. (Why have it at all? If needed, why not name it "Advert for Sync"?)

7) Logging in to the discussion forum the first time was also a pain -- can't start with a number, can't use spaces. How 1990's.

I agree!  There is so much potential here and a way for Ford to keep us informed and happy(er).  Instead, many direct questions about what's to come, upgrades (like will it or won't it work for my 2010 car), go unanswered.
Logging in (XP and Firefox) takes forever!  I just timed it.  65 seconds and 4(?) screens just to log in so you can post a question or reply.  I'm on satellite.  Not as speedy as cable but MUCH faster than dialup.

Do you mean numbers and spaces as in paragraphs and line spaces?

And what happened to the wish list?  I still can't stand the red on blue color scheme.  I wonder if any serious accidents were caused by drivers trying to read the horrible screen.

And posting a reply to this forum is not intuative.  Where is the "Post" or "Submit" button?

Reading and posting to dpreview.com is easy too but it's got nothing to do with Sync (and neither does greenhybrid).

The entire SYNC "system" is an overblown farce.  I included it in my 2010 Mustang and knowing what I know now, I would have saved the money and bought ANY aftermarket system.

From the website, to the update process, everything seems designed by Mickey Mouse.  No, more like Goofy!!!  I am about ready to take it to the dealer and have them take it out!!! The three blind mice are better at navigation than the GPS and it is NOT user friendly.

For the cost, it is an embarrassment.

I could agree more.  I have never seen a system so poorly designed as the SYNCMYRIDE site.  It's nearly impossible to get an update.  I've spent hours trying to get the Sync updates and once again it is useless.  I'll not buy a Ford vehicle with Sync in it again.  What a joke.

Any ideas on how to download updates?  Tried getting Status Checker, twiddled ActiveX as per troubleshooting instructions, but still nothing when I click download button.  Could IE8 be the problem?  Thanks!  And I agree, this Sync site is very convoluted.

I was more talking about the OP's #7 coment, and the need for this site to be more user friendly... but I guess the guest could use an update too. Opps that's not about SYNC!
