Ok, I realize there are already several posts about this issue, but maybe one more will finally get someone at Ford or Sync to address this issue. I contacted the Ford/Sync customer service, and received the same generic response everyone else has been getting. I'm not sure why they seem to think this is Apple's issue? Apple has NO responsibility to make their frequent (and well known) software updates compatible with Sync. Sync is a third party program, and it is their responsibility to provide updates just as frequently as Apple if they want to claim that this system is state of the art. My iPod touch works fine. It always has. Sync has not worked with my iPod in over a month, even after installing the v2.1 update. I should not have to downgrade my iPod software to use Sync. This is ridiculous!

Here is what I did, I have the same issue and beef;

- search around this site for "sync my itunes', a utility that you need to run.  it will add "UNKNOWN" to the album, genre and anything else, tags.  This will help sync run faster.

- run this, sync the iTouch with iTunes again.

- plug into the truck, set the truck on accessory, lock the doors, and walk away for 2-3 hours!

When you come back, it will be synced.

Bummer huh?

yeah but you forgot to mention that every freaking time you add a song to your iTouch you'll have to repeat the process :(
