I successfully completed the update to 2.1 yesterday on my F-150. Thought I would share observations and tips: - If you have Nav, the install does not launch automatically when you plug the USB drive in (as it says in the instructions). You have to go to Phone-> Advanced-> Install to get it to launch. I sat in the truck, expectantly waiting for the install to occur for 5 minutes or so until I figured this out. - The install takes a long time; 3 minutes or so for the first confirmation, and then 5-6 minutes for the system to reboot, and then youu get the second success confirmation. Good news is that if you have Nav, you do get a confirmation message on the screen, so you do not have to wait in the truck for the verbal confirmations. - The install did not wipe out my parings and address books, as the instructions said it would. The phone acted weird though, after install, so I deleted the pairing on both SYNC and my phone, repaired, and it seems more stable. - The update seems to have fixed the auto-start of streaming music on iPhone; phone no longer plays just because it is paired. - The skipping issue remains while streaming. - I now get a confirmation the 911 assist is enabled every time I start my truck. Will post up anything else I observe; others are encouraged to do the same. Gary

Don't you mean you are getting a reminder that 911Assist is set to off?  If you turn it on that will stop.  It is just like the tones that remind you to buckle your seat belt.

Oh, sorry.  I was thinking about voice, but you mean the display.  Yes, you will get a display popup now.  Thanks.

I have a Taurus X with Nav and similar experience: No automatic upload. I had to go to the User Device | Advanced menu.

The install went fast, less than a minute. But the "Reboot" took several minutes.

I now see a display popup that 911 is active, but no voice. I also turned off other voice notifications (phone connected) that were annoying.

On first install, I got a warning that 911 didn't work and to visit the dealer. But since then I see the display 911 is active on every turn-on, so I ignore that one-time warning after the install.

The install didn't fix my probem with the Phonebook Download, where I have to approve each time I start up the car or the phone will disconnect. I continue to use my old fix to set the Phonebook Download to Manual in the Advanced settings. Then only do the download manually after modifying my cell phonebook. (Not very often at all.)

I successfully installed the 2.1 update over the weekend.  I also deleted and re-paired my phone.  I've not seen a lot of difference regarding the connection to my Blackberry (it's good and stable as it has always been).

I played with the new 911 Assist On/Off feature.  Apparently you can set it to "On", "Off w/o Reminder", and "Off with Reminder".  When set to "On", I get a display message (no voice) saying "911 Assist Enabled".  When set to "Off with Reminder", I get a display message saying 911 Assist is disabled AND I get a voice message reminding me that 911 Assist is disabled.  I've not tried the "Off without Reminder" setting yet.

I am very happy to report that the 2.1 update fixed the issue where Sync always switched to Bluetooth Audio whenever a phone was present. This problem drove me nuts and I am happy to report that Sync now goes back to playing my iPod when I restart the car. I also had the microphone kit installed on our Flex and the phone sound quality is greatly improved. Thanks to others on this forum I don't have the indexing issues with my iPod Touch because I haven't updated it to the latest firmware as I continue to wait for a fix for the indexing issue to be released.

I successfully downloaded the 2.1 update.  Attempted to install it and when I go to the USB, it says initializing for about 1-2 minutes then comes back and says unsupported device.  I've tried this with two different brand/model flash drives and the same thing occurs.  Any suggestions?
