If you own a mobile phone that is unable to download contacts to SYNC, then SYNC My Phone provides a mechanism to manually create and download phone book contacts to your SYNC-equipped vehicle. For now, the application is available for Windows only, but we’re working on a Mac version.

When SYNC connects with a mobile phone, it downloads the phone book contacts and indexes all of the contact names. Once this is done, these contacts are accessible via voice command such as "Call Mike Smith at home". If SYNC is unable to download phone book contacts, then drivers are only able to digit-dial phone calls, such as "Dial 1-313-555-1212".

SYNC’s ability to download mobile phone contacts is dependent upon a mobile phone's compatibility with various Bluetooth and data exchange standards. While SYNC employs several mechanisms to download contacts from a mobile phone, not all phones implement phone book download mechanisms, and some phones implement the standard incorrectly.

SYNC My Phone is an application that allows SYNC owners to download mobile phone contacts to their SYNC-equipped vehicle via a USB thumb drive. Click this link to download SYNC My Phone
