This may be of some help- or not.  I sent an emai to Ford and got a response that this was a known compatability issue with the Pantech Breeze phone, and Ford referred me to my carrier (AT&T) .  I wondered about this because I recently bought the Pantech Breeze II phone which is rated "Certified Standard" by Ford (I double checked the rating).  I talked to AT&T and as I suspected they had no idea.  But they did give me the number for Pantech Support.  I talked to a technical support person there, who said he was unaware of any issues with Synch and the Breeze II phone.  I took my car to the dealer with my phone.  With my phone, I was able to pair it to another Synch automobile, turn the phone off, the car off, restart, and I did not lose the pairing.  The dealer now has the car and is working with Ford trying to figure this out.  The Ford tech suggested a probable software glitch.  They were going to try to reload all the software.

Why rate the Pantech Breeze II "Certified Standard" if there are know compatability issues?

If your phone is a Pantech Breeze II model, it may be the software in the car rather than a problem with your cell phone.

An update to my previous submissions re pantech breeze pairing failure.  Ford dealer worked with Ford for day and a half on this problem.  To Recap:  A new Pantech Breeze II initailly paired with my Lincoln and kept the pairing no problem.  Then I loaded the Synch Services software, and the phone would not keep the pairing.  At the dealer my phone would keep a pairing with a Mercury on the lot.  Ford finally said the car I bought (a used 2010) had phones already paired and designated primary, which was causing the problem.  They fixed that and paired successfully with the tech's phone.  Mine still would not keep the pairing with my Lincoln.  I went to AT&T, borrowed a new Pantech Breeze II wich worked just fine.  I turned in my two month old phone and just received a refurbished one under warranty and it works fine.  I think that doing all this my phone got corrupted by the software in the Lincoln and would no longer work with it.

I am going through the exact same thing with my wife's new phone, a Pantech Breeze and her Flex. It will not download the phone book. I have just checked for updates and it says it needs to be updated, so I am getting ready to update system, and will report later. The dealer synced my phone and said he has had problems with Pantech phones, but the list says it is compatable. I do not understand.

I had the same issue with my wife's pantech  phone from at&t.  would not download phone book or allow contacts to be pushed via bluetooth to the sync system in her 2009 mariner.  after updating and trying clean pairing.  i contacted sync support and they told me the pantech software does not work with sync.  I dont know why they don't remove the pantach phones from the approved list.  I took the phone back to at&t and swapped it for a samsung phone that worked great.  I did have to pay a $35 restocking fee to change phones though.

I have a Pantech "Breeze" model C520 mobile phone with AT&T service. I can pair this phone with Sync but have had no luck getting the address book to download. Has anyone else solved this problem?
